One of you is thinking it runs out of travel because it hits the bottom and the other is thinking it runs out because its at full droop. Either will do.

Where are you mounting the tank and spare tyre?

Saw a cool tank in a sami van before. It was the width of
the gap between the rear arches. At the front it was Flat backed but angled to
Fit behind the reclined front seats. And the face at the back curved around the
Radius of the spare tyre that was mounted in the back.

Good capacity and use of space

Looking as putting it in a very similar place and the spare behind it.

Just spoken to a firm in Darlington who repair all kinds of oily bits (tanks, sumps, coolers etc...) and they have asked for drawings / dimensions to make me a tank.

Never promised he'd be cheap but did say if I made the tank they could pressure test and, as long as the welding isnt totally rubbish, epoxy resin line it. Which when hardened is apparently as good as a plastic tank.

So gonna go and speak to them before I try and make one.

Personally I would make one with a built in swirl pot internally or underneath where the fuel outlets are, this is what I would do as there has been many a time when I have had well over 1/4 of a tank yet I have not been able to pick up fuel because of the angle I was at, this will always be a problem with a tank with only a single pickup/outlet and it will be even worse with a larger tank.

Thats what the fuel pump clicky noise is for... to let you know you're leaning over too far ;)

Possibly a "v" shaped bottom to try and keep fuel as close to the pick up as possible?

sure baffles would do the same thing rather then a swirl pot as ive had my truck at some interesting angles and never had a problem with fuel starvation.
