My 1988 Samurai SJ413 (Bought March 2014)

Post by mmac78 » Tue Mar 18, 2014 2:27 pm

Hi guys,

this is my latest addition. It's a 1988 E reg, Samurai SJ413 she has a little under 93k on the clock and it was bought through ebay, he had it listed and it was on £810. I messaged him and asked his 'Buy it Now' price and he replied £850.
Has a full MOT til next February, Taxed til July this year and it's had a full service & alternator. Although he put the old belt back on - I replaced it at the cost of £3.99
Collected it 2 weeks ago and it's been over my friends house while awaiting a new fan belt. This is the first outing so thought i'd take a drive up to Mill Hill / Truleigh Hill in West Sussex and get a few pics.

She has a few dents and bumps, but nothing that can't be fixed. Interior is lovely and has all the original carpets and seats with no rips (apart from drivers seat). Very pleased with it and considering the heap of rubbish I paid £740 for a couple of years back I think I did alright.

Some pics: (have since removed the shackle off the front and stuck it in the garage!)

Should make a start on sorting the cosmetics out very soon :)

Cheers

Yeah they look a damn fight fit.

Looks like it has great potential though.

What's the plan?

cheers chaps,

the plan is to cut out the rot and get some new metal in. Get the mahooooosive ding out that is on the nearside sill, already got the majority out just needs to be heated up and bashed out a bit more. Remove the dents.. then get some landy arch kits and cut to suit.

Once thats all done, will probably give it a new coat of paint. Torn between two shades of satin Green.. olive and a darker one. Trying for a camo look.

Other than that I suppose thats about it :)
