Thought I'd start a build tread seeming as I'm starting a build of my new sj. I am already a suzuki enthusiast having owned a jimny before hand and recently sold it to rockwatt engineering and believe it or not I passed my driving test 7/8 years ago in a new shape swift!
Anyway I bought this sj a couple of weeks ago now, and to be fair after I've had a good look over it, it's had a great deal of work done to it already so it makes a great base in my opinion.
I have noticed a tinny metalic rattle from the front diff which I suspect is the pinion bearing, so I've ordered the bearings from jimny bits aswell as a diff rebuild kit. Hoping that the parts arrive this week so that I can take the diff to peices and fix it.
After that issue is sorted I'm after an su carb but would like opinions of what adaptation to make or buy to fit the carb. The current carb really rubbish (quote me if I'm wrong but I think it's the aisin carb. It doesn't like hills and anything to be honest. I've stripped and cleaned it but it still won't idle at normal rpm, so she's up at 2500 for the minute lol.
