Cuddy munts in Faversham
Anyhow, went offroading today at Cuddy Munts in Faversham. To be honest, I was never in danger of getting stuck, so whilst I had a lot of fun, I don't think I'd go again unless it was raining. Or in something less capable (I hate to sound cocky, but my SJ is *awesome* - it impresses me every time I get in it!).
I kinda mean that, too - as strange as it sounds, if I was in something crap like a Freelander, it might've been challenging. As it was, I kinda just went around and around, not getting stuck, pulling out some people who did (including the 70 on 32's in the pics below) and stalling. A lot. Damned fine automobile is my SJ, but torque it lacks and lacks hard! Jack didn't seem to be stalling all the time like me, but then he's got a 3.0TD...
Also, I was kinda impressed by how well she flexed up for standard (saggy) springs and standard length shocks:
The KJA70 has 10" travel rough country shocks from Dave at Llama, so I was kinda impressed with the SJ!
Good day, but I wouldn't recommend the place to any of you lot, honestly I think you'd get a bit bored.

These little Suzukis are great!
May need to lower the gearing or get a bigger engine if you want more torque.
It has flexed up nicely.

I have a 1.6 to go in, and a 4.16:1 t-case waiting to have an x-eng t-case handbrake fitted and then that can go in too.Ju wrote:These little Suzukis are great!

I should be (really really) good to go then.
My problem really was that everything I did was on tickover or close to it, and I recently tuned my tickover properly. It was 1200 because I hadn't set the choke's idle up properly, now I've sorted the choke I've dropped the warm idle to 900. I think I just have to get used to it.
I have 12 rattlecans of grey paint. Problem is finding the time/energy! Hilux Scottie started to paint it orange at some point, not sure why. I have to get that off first, and the stickers, sort the rust spots under the rear windows and around the rear door, then paint it. I think she'll look really good in light grey - I think it's the same grey that your truck is in, and Donkeychomp's Piglet 3.dan_2k_uk wrote:Looks like a good day out.

I *think*.

Looks like fun. Bring the mutha over to Shepperton and I'll have her sorted in 2 days. You can have a Piglet as a loaner lol.

Re: Cuddy munts in Faversham
I have so much to do to her, it's unreal! I wouldn't want to drop all that work on you until you're feeling better anyway.
I want to pull the 1.6 apart, new stem seals, new gaskets, clean up the oilways and such, then bolt on a 1.3 flywheel, the 1.3 clutch, the adapter plate, the gearbox, make the engine mounts and then drop the whole lot into the SJ in one go.
But my to-do list is sooooo long... 1.6 and t-case are the tip of the iceberg!

Yes but we'll need to give her a bath before! Take the Vit home...you'll love her.
