I can't decide whether it's a work of art or a monstrocity that needs to be exorcised with copious amounts of fire!

It's the beetle that ruins it! Could look ace if they thought about the roof line better.

I thought the beetle as a roof idea kinda ruined it too! Maybe if they'd stopped at the B pillar, so it was still streamlined a bit...
One of the reasons (besides the colour) that I don't like it. And it seems to be a kind of limo thing, rather than a proper camper thing - they've just added seats in the extra space, instead of living space/kitchen space. Although I guess they convert to beds?
Still, I don't think it's the best use of the internal space.

A little quick and dirty photoshop later:

You'll have to ignore the curtains in the "new" top window, but I think that's a big improvement!
I tried painting it orange, but I don't have time to do that properly.

No idea where it's from, a mate liked it on facebook.
I like old volks, it is a shame to cut up a beetle to make that - but it may have been beyond saving.
I'd rather have fibreglass up that high though, if all that is metal then this thing is going to be very top heavy.

Your edited version looks awesome! As a fellow camper owner I would as the cool kids say "rep" that. Beetle roof looks stupid though, but when I'm in it driving I won't see it, well I shouldn't do anyway!

This doesn't look any worse than any high top split/bay...not only do they look wrong they drive even slower than slow. I love classic VWs and I think the 'limo' looks cool. I'd have a living area and a sleeping area though and a couple of westy tops. Oh...and a 3.2 Carrera engine so that I got where I was planning!!
Each to their own though...
