Managed to get this picked up the other day, it had already been stripped (badly) so it only took 3 of us to lift it onto the trailer, all the parts went in the back of the tipper we were towing with and off she went to her new home.
When I say its been stripped, I mean stripped. Not only had he taken rear axle off and stripped it fully down apart from the diff, the engine was sat stripped, no cam belt on it, belt pulleys been hammered off and is now square, rocker cover removed and rest of engine sat exposed, full of twigs. All the front suspension was totally taken apart. Last thing he gave me to put on tipper was 3 paint tubs full of rusty nuts bolts and washers, "thats all the bolts ive taken off everything, there all there, somewhere!"
What a bloody maverick!!
Started to put bits back together so I can see whats there and whats missing. Took me 2 days to find all the bits to put rear axle and drums back together, the big bits were easy to find but the pins that hold the shoes in were hiding. Got some rear wheel bearings and an engine stand for my birthday so the rear axles back together and on, and the engines on the stand.
Enough words, now some photos.

Re: Beddy Rascal
Nothing special, just going to get it back on the road and see where it goes from there. I like having something to get stuck into and it'll keep me out of trouble for a while. As bad as it looks its 100% better than the 2nd kja I've got.Jordi wrote:Plans?
I do know im going to paint it red though, think thats the best colour for these.
They are quite odd little things tho, the engine sits at a 45 degree angle and the bottoms of the seats are covered with heat resistant insulation because your sat right on top of the engine, the brake servo and cylinders mounted directly on the back of the pedal box. And ive never had a car that didn't have a bonnet!

Looks like it needs a little love. I've always fancied one for a laugh. I quite like them in that light faded blue.

Done a bit to this over the weekend, lots of welding needed. To be honest I wish the previous owner hadnt started, his work is shocking to say the least, it all needs cutting out and re-doing. So I made a start.

Plenty to be getting on with.
Real pain in the back side when you have to sort someone elses bodge out.
