Bought another one!
Bought another one!
Though id share with you guys that I've gone and got another soft top sj410. It is in extremely good condition with only a rusty windscreen surround. I bought it for the asking price at an absolute steal, and i mean almost free.
It was a non runner after a lady posted it on FB saying it had spent the last ten years towing a harrow around her sand school and that it just died. Fixed the loose wire and then my brother drove it home.
I'm going to fix the little things such as the horn and exhaust and get it mot'd and then sell it.
I'll post some pics soon as I know you love them.

Looking forward to them!
Re: Bought another one!
Here some pics!
I'll tell you a bit about it.
The sj has actually been well looked after and came with a stack of service history and only has 44,000 on the clock. It's a c reg 4 speed with only a rusty windscreen ( I've checked for rust) and had spent the last ten years harrowing a sand school, but was posted on FB as a non runner. I went to see it one sunday and paid the asking price which was lets just say a little above scrap value. As it was dark when i got it my brother couldn't see much when he checked the oil, and when putting the dip stick back missed the hole and didn't realise. This lead to an engine bay covered in oil.
These are from when i had just got it home and hadn't done anything apart from fix the bad battery ground. It has the original light guards, stereo and tool kit i think.
Gave it a clean and put the soft top from my yellow one on it as the white ones back door was shot.
I then put a spare wheel carrier on the rear door and replaced the leaking fuel lines, and then went for a play in the garden
Here are some of the wheel arches and the only bit of rust on the thing, the windscreen.
I'm going to fix the minor things on it for the mot and then put it up for sale as we currently have 4 SJs. What price do you reckon ill get for something in this kind of condition with an Mot?
This should give me enough cash to get the other two done, Hopfully!

Re: Bought another one!
I'm thinking of selling this now, what price do you reckon its worth?
I've repaired the exhaust, windscreen and horn. It hasn't got an mot but it wouldn't take much to get one.
Any thoughts appreciated or if anyone is interested in buying it.

Re: Bought another one!
Fix the windscreen and you should get a good price - I'd imagine you could get 2000-2500 for it if you get it really nice, like Helen's old SJ. Maybe more, if you're not in a hurry to sell.

Re: Bought another one!
just realised i said i repaired the windscreen etc. I meant to say i'm going to repair the horn, windscreen and exhaust. However, i went to do these and the replacement screen i had was worse in the end and the horn was a wiring issue i didn't want to get in to. Anyhow its on the bay now.
Re: Bought another one!
They have to be 100% perfect with an MOT to fetch that sort of money......you would be very lucky to see £2000+ in the UK market.Anton wrote:Fix the windscreen and you should get a good price - I'd imagine you could get 2000-2500 for it if you get it really nice, like Helen's old SJ.
