Air filter

Post by Rjmaas512 » Sun Jul 31, 2011 3:36 pm

My SJ currently has no air filter. Have an air box now and pipe, however no elbow to sit on top of the carb.

I am after something looking like this:

http://t1.gstatic.com/images?q=tbn:ANd9 ... B-ryNssBgs" onclick="window.open(this.href);return false;

Picture of my carb uploaded. Any ideas on what to use to connect the air box to the carb? I have searched ebay with nor much success so need some help here.

Thanks,

Rob

It's called the plenum chamber. I may have a spare one in my shed... I'll let u know if I find one!

Ah, ha that's what they're called. Spent ages trying to find out what its called.

If you have one it would be amazing :thumbup:, having so much trouble finding one, and its the final thing I need to have an air filter :)

Air filter you should be able to get from any motor spares shop... I would put a K&N style one on it though :)

Sorry chap I haven't had a chance to have a proper look. My shed is a mountain of suzuki parts and other bits and pieces at the minute...

Well I have a carb elbow. £25.00 for a piece of metal!

will stick it on the carb with some TRV sealant and a bolt, then cut up and modify my bonnet.

The bonnet doesn't close by a few inches!

Ahhhh excellent! It may be worth checking how many spacers there are inbetween the carb and the manifold. If there's enough room to take the spacer out and the levers still work then you can drop the height by about 1 cm...
