Best x-mas pressies 2014

Post by themac » Wed Dec 24, 2014 3:42 pm

Apart from the fermented fish and the hard-to-translate porkkana laatikko one of the perks about living in Scandinavia is that we actually get to meet santa and receive our gifts on x-mas eve.

Nice!

What rating is that stuff? I need better lighting on my SJ. Been thinking about LED spots.

And I worry my 9500lb ramsey winch is going to be too heavy to mount up front (already front heavy) so I thought that when I get around to mounting it, I'd either go with a centre mounted "remote" winch (do the back-to-front thing with a pully at the rear) or get a small winch for up front that I only ever use in absolute emergencies.

The Ramsey came off a D90 though, and coped ok with a 2 ton vehicle, so I suspect that something half as powerful is going to cope just fine with a 1 ton SJ.

The winch is too small for any vehicle recovery at a ton I imagine. But good enough to pull some logs out in the bush! Will save my back. The lights are standard 55w. Gonna be fun to install!
