Re: Anton's build
Seat's in. Forgot pix.
It's squished right up against the B pillar because it's got "wings", I'll have to cut them off or something!
Went offroading at Cuddy Munts in Faversham. Meh. Fun, but rain would've improved things no end.
Driving back, there's a slightly strange noise coming from the front end. Sounds to my untrained ear like it could be the sound of a dry UJ or something. It's faint, so I'm not quite sure what it could be - I'll look into it next week.
And I got her up to 65mph on the way back, I think I could've got 70 out of her, but there was quite a lot of vibration over 60, so I backed off. Seems pretty happy between 55 and 60.
How fast do you lot drive yours?

Re: Anton's build
55 60 is most comfortable for me.
I've seen a mind blowing 95 on (my own test track obviously ) my
Speedo which is pretty accurate with my 215s. That's a bum clencher I can tell thee . It'd not the speed it's the noise!

Fired mine up earlier Anton. No choke, pretty much from cold 800rpm.

Re: Anton's build
Without choke, it tries to idle while cold at about 500rpm, and obviously it can't. So I need a little choke to get her started now that I've fiddled with the idle, but where I had it before she'd idle at about 900 when cold, 1200 when warmed up.
It's not a big issue for me, I just pull the choke a bit, drive off, and the vibrations of the journey mean the choke pushes itself back in as I drive along. Within a couple of miles she's warm, and the choke has slipped back to where I need it anyway. Totally accidental, but meh - it works, so I'm happy.
I thought about an idle up or a gearstick mounted secondary throttle, but I really don't think I'd use it enough to warrant the work of making it/fitting it.

Piglet 3 will do 90 no worries...6 probably will too but it's too scary!

Re: Anton's build
Yeah, she's basically starting to scare me at about 65mph. Might try to push to 70 when the 1.6 is in, although I'm sure I could get to 70 with the 1.3 - but it's starting to shake a bit. Getting the front wheels balanced might help...

You sure that's not a wheel bearing...not that I am doubting your hearing or anything...

Re: Anton's build
I suppose it could be, I'm frankly not sure what it is. The wheel bearings on the front are only a few hundred miles old though.

When I pop over, you mind taking the wheel and bombing it down a dual carriageway or something so I can get your opinion?donkeychomp wrote:You sure that's not a wheel bearing...not that I am doubting your hearing or anything...
Also, what's your thinking on dates for greenlaning?
