Hi All , would love to put up the build thread as I have all the pictures but I,m having probs resizing stuff and I,m not that puter literate Anyways the truck is a bit of a monster including being able to knock down fair sized fir trees with its bull bar and then drive over them ! Helen got a bit ambitious with the throttle in some very deep mud and lets say it made very swift progress in general direction of tree whilst trying not to hang up the right side of axle on the bank of a flooded road Suffice to say what I have deducted from this is a rocklobster is required to slow things down and to put more torque into 2 low as opposed to revs in 1 low with resulting wheel spin . The 19Xud motor has plenty of torque down there in 1 low but needs revs in 2 low so think a balance may be found ? or perhaps it would be easier to get helen to wear slippers when off roading . Think you may get what I,m saying ?
Anyways for those interested the Bovington events through Endeavourmotorsport please see website have gotten to be awesome especially since its become wet and everyone on this forum is invited to attend . Question for the forum .
Does anyone know where I can get hold of a master cylinder (Brake) for Helens truck 91 Sammy as hers is weeping from the front very slightly . Car parts suppliers say its discontinued and spoke to Suzuki main dealer and was quoted £240 plus vat Is it rebuildable and if so is a kit available or other possible fixes ? Your advice would be most welcome .
Btw the next day for 4x4 is sunday 31st of January at Bovington and is limited to the first 50 trucks . Hope to see you there . Prices and details on the website .

Further to my original question about helens brake master cylinder it only appears to leak from the front where the white plastic tank fits into the metal tube . Question could the vibes from the diesel XUD be causing it to flop about as it does move on its mount ? Found this in America and it talks about a rubber mounting grommet is this the bit that needs replacing ? http://www.lowrangeoffroad.com/suzuki/s ... rakes.html and if so do you just lever the whit tank off and pop 2 of these new ones in ? Next question can these be got over here anybody Know ?

Hi Ian,

I'm pretty sure that seal for the reservoir will be easily replaceable but its a bit dark and wet to go look at mine.

If its just an o-ring its probably just a case of finding out the size and getting one of the appropriate grade from a bearing supplier.

I will try do a little web based research now.

Is it the round reservoir where the whole lid screws off or the rectangular one with a smaller lid?

Im pretty sure if its one with a cylindrical reservoir with a big cap as big as the top of the reservoir itself you will need two Suzuki parts No. 51197-85520.

I also found another part number for another design with a cylindrical reservoir but I've not seen one of those on a UK SJ.

I couldn't find the part number for the equivelant parts for the square shape resorvoir type but if its that I can try look again.

See if you can add a photo of it.

It looks like they are just a push fitting as there is no pressure there.

That part number is post 1990 round resorvoir (At least in America) so is likely the right one if you have that.

Like I said if you have a square reservoir then further investigation required.
