Kawazonkey's colours are as they should be for that bike, Kawasaki Racing Green. Just happens to be an 'in your face' colour! Elsie is being painted as she came out of the factory too, white with 2 tone blue stripes.

Was a cold but sunny day so I had my first 'proper' ride on Elsie. Did maybe 70 miles all in, mainly B roads and what a laugh! These bikes go like no other, quite happy tootling about at under 5500rpm then above that all hell breaks loose as you frantically try to change up a gear quick enough. Tank went onto reserve after 40 miles (it wasn't full but I had forgotten how thirsty these bikes can be). I am so happy to have another LC in my life. Never selling this, she's my pride and joy!

Done a few niggly bits that were bugging me. I really should strip her right down and do a full on resto but I am having to much fun riding her. Any excuse...oh I need Rizlas, best ride off and try and find the nearest shop that somehow turns out to be 20 miles away...
The speedo. Its KPH and real MPH clocks cost maybe £200. So a set of stickers, removed and stripped the speedo and job done.
Switchgear was tatty so new decals and paint and a lot better.
Also realised I had put the RD 350 stickers on the side panels in the wrong place! So I very very carefully removed them and new ones are on in the right place. Next up, the horns (yes she has two...no idea why. The 250LC has one only).

Finished the horns, all good.
Then I thought I'd do the generator engine case. As is quite usual on these bikes the engine has a hole in it where the chain had flown off at one stage and smashed a hole in it. Was wondering how to repair it when I spotted the errant bit of metal stuck on some oily residue. Good grief. I shudder to think what would have happened if that had slipped and got jammed in the chain. Anyway the casing came off and got the usual refurn with BBQ paint and high heat lacquer. I'll put the bit of metal back in with some instant weld.

It's way to cold to ride anywhere so I thought I'd paint the tank. Took the fuel tap off and used my rebuild kit with good effect, new rubber seals and washers. Sanded down a few areas and primed it. And now it's here at home. I had great results with the Mito and race bike tank in my hallway so why not? Also got some rather pricy transmission oil, £13 a litre so it better be good!
