My SJ on standard (if saggy) springs rides like it's trying to make my spine come out of the top of my head. Lubricating the springs (squirting WD40 between the leaves) improves the ride, and it gets softer by itself when it's wet out. It's almost "good" in those circumstances.

SJ's all ride pretty bad, except those who've put longer leaf springs in like YJ springs. I have a set of Hilux springs now, so I might put long springs on mine. Might. ;)

Could be your shocks, sjs on stock springs and shocks don't ride much worse than jimny's I think.

^^ what he said.

Fit some astra shocks or similar. Youl notice the difference.
I went from pro comps to gas kybs and it made a huge difference.

Jimnys are slightly smoother but an sjs handling round corners
Is more predictable. Im more than happy to try and flick the arse end out on an sj on a wet corner but in the jimny i wouldnt try it.

The ride will always be choppy due to the wheel base. Its amazing
How much smoother a lwb rides in comparison.

The only reason why I don't think *my* problem is shocks is because lubing the leaf springs up a bit (when it gets wet, or if I spray a little WD on them) then the ride becomes much less destruct-o-spine...

I'm running ES1000's I got off a junker.
