New to the 4x4 world and just purchased my first Suzuki. A 1986 SJ 413 Estate! Pretty well specced with add a leaf, 3" shackles, 15 inch fourtrak wheels and Insa Turbo specials.
Bought with a half assed 1.6 and SU conversion which I'm plotting through to get running. To give you an idea of how half assed, the plug order was wrong and he had one of the radiator hoses running to the brake servo vac take off on the manifold.
Once I get an idea of the right rebuild kit for the SU I'll hopefully get to drive it!

Sid James gone but never forgotten

Quite a few good lanes up northumberland, haltwhistle way.
Don't do much locally sadly, work always gets in the way.

You should take the top off the carb, and take the needle and spring out to check they are correct. You could spend hours screwing about with it and not get anywhere.
The needle should have "BDL" on it and the spring should have a bit of yellow paint on one end

I've fitted a BDL and yellow spring but the original was a BFM/red so shouldn't have been causing any issues really.
My problems lie with the throttle spindle and bushings, and possibly the overrun valve. Burlen has a rebuild kit en-route as we speak,

Get rid of the overrun valve and replace with a solid disc. Those valves are known for causing problems
