What model of Sammi is this??
I've seen a few pics of samurais with this grill/front end(not bumper I know that's aftermarket) and think they're really smart but when doing to googles for newest samurai bringing me results saying '95 as the newest they look nothing alike? Help would be appreciated as I'm thinking long term and considering getting a mint import if possible as I've come to terms with the fact that although I adore my samurai to bits, it's going to be a constant battle of replacing bits all the time and never being quite satisfied with interior limitations etc, so the answer is two samurais

Re: What model of Sammi is this??
So it seems it was at one point an 88 sammi like mine but has been almost completely stripped and replaced with other random bits, he doesn't say in the article what model the grille came from but he states that he got it in South America? Now starting to wonder how I could go about converting my front end to accommodate such a grille if I could get hold of one? Presumably wings to match?

You can get those grilles on eBay from international sellers, I remember seeing a chrome, Hummer style one recently.
As well as new wings, I'm guessing the headlight spacing's will be all wrong as well?
I dunno, 'needs a quite a bit of homework on this one, it is a great looking grille though!

The white one is a Jimny JA11... which I believe was the only model with leaf springs and the face lifted front clip.
The silver one is either a JA12 or a JA22. Think the only difference was the engine, as the JA12 had an F series and the JA22 had a K series.

Tbh I think they are the ugliest front end Suzuki came out with on the SJ series, the dash in them is even worse
That said it doesn't look as bad with the older bonnet and scuttle panel.

I don't mind the front end so much, but it lacks the retro feel of all previous ones.... even mine is a bit retro, the overall square-ish shape, not necessarily the grille itself.
... but i'm in agreement about the dashboard, it looks cack on the JA11 and coilies

Was the JA12/JA22 the Kei car? 660cc turbo?twiss wrote:The white one is a Jimny JA11... which I believe was the only model with leaf springs and the face lifted front clip.

It looks to me that this front grille wouldn't fit on older models - I think I see it overlapping with the front wings. I think if you wanted to fit it, you'd need the whole front clip, not just the grille.
I like the fact that it's got the indicators up and out of the way, but other than that I'm with Scottie. SJ410 grille is best looking, followed by SJ413 and the Samurai. Dead last though is the one with square headlights:
