So I've been struggling with parts, so I am yet to get of the ground with the build, but I think I'm worrying about nothing as I'm sure somthing will pop up I can steal the engine out of sooner or later.


I need a good tyre size for standard gearing and 1.6 engine any ideas lads?

I have two spare old man emu lift springs, kja already has lift springs but old man emu ride very nice so I think il use them on the rear.

Truck has rear discs and vitara vented front brakes which is cool, braided brake lines ect.

I think I just need to get on with the cab and get stuck into it and worry about the parts later !

What about going RUF with stock sj rears....should even it out height wise and they work super well on the front, gives it a nice soft ride and good flex.

Step one complete ! Buy a vitara, sold one of my hilux's to a guy up north delivered it to him and picked this up in the way home !

Dragged the kja out from behind the workshop to strip out before I take the cab of to be blasted.

time allowing I might have to do this project slightly differently to how I first intended, but all depends on space in the coming weeks and months. might end up just bolting the running gear back into it and moting him, but not made my mind up yet.

I run a fairly stock Sammy drivetrain with a 1.3 and 31's, it's very driveable except 5th is useless. With a 1.6 it should be pretty lovely to drive stock drivetrain on 31's, alternatively with a 410 tcase and SJ413 (3.909) ratio diffs you're within 1% of stock on 31's (I wanna go 1.6 with rocklobster and 3.909's to have the best of both).

I'm betting that 410 high ratio and 1.6 would push around 33's or even 35's ok.

If you're still looking to rid yourself of bits after I get out of hozzipull in about 5 weeks, my man Daniel might have the wings.
