Hello. My SJ410.

Post by DougForbes » Sun Jan 08, 2012 4:08 pm

Hi everybody, i'm Doug from Aberdeen and here is my pretty much standard 1987 SJ410 which gets called the Rhino. I have owned it for a few months now and have already had it in bits a few times. The gearbox has been in and out a couple times to try and make it a bit more comfortable on the road, but the 5 speed box was wailing its head off when I had it fitted so it had to be removed again.
I have also replaced the steering box since the old ones bushes were gone and the car was all over the road.
I'm looking to maybe do a few small modifications such as slightly bigger wheels/tyres, and maybe a small suspension lift, but nothing that will greatly affect how it handles on the road since it will still be my every day runabout.
Doug.

Welcome to the site....

Wow that 410 is lovely, in fact its exactly the type I'd want! If you ever sell her will you let me know? I always wanted a 410 tin top and 87 is the best year, as its the year I was born! More pics please!!!

Hi, nice 410 and welcome to the club!!!
If you're going to mod it, start small and then work up from there.

I would start with a 2" suspension lift and some slightly bigger mud terrain tyres.

215s or 225s would be the best. Maybe some wheel spacers as well.
