Suzuki sj 410 from Cornwall PROJECT Never Ending Project
Re: Suzuki sj 410 from Cornwall PROJECT Never Ending Project
Problem with doing that is that it's pushing off centre, would be better with two jacks either side. Do you not know anyone with a slide hammer that you could borrow?

Smack it alternately on either side. You need the shock from a hammer to break the seal of the crap that will be binding it in there.
Janspeed manifold, LWB Vit vented discs and calipers

Well at least you haven't got to fluff around with the brakes
I see you have the separate retaining plate type, just don't forget to fit them
on the shaft before you press the new bearings and collar on

Re: Suzuki sj 410 from Cornwall PROJECT Never Ending Project
Have you tried smacking the non jack side of the angle iron with a hammer whilst applying load with the jack?
You seem to have a lot of load on the jack as the angle has bent slightly. So some sharp blows with a hammer might get it moving/out.
Remove the jack and try two hammers at once, get a mate to help if need be?
Or as Dan says hit alternate sides with a hammer, or just wait for the slide hammer, but you want it done NOW!!
I presume the retaining bolts are removed?

I was presuming that too but the retainer does look pretty well butted up.Ladaman wrote:
