Looking for a vitara
Looking for a vitara
Hello. I'm currently living in Hong Kong where there's no point in having a car and no driving freedom (or freedom generally), so upon my return to the UK next month I'm going to buy something small and cheap that will put a smile on my face. I've wanted a wee suzuki 4x4 since I before passed my driving test, so now seems like the time.
I'll be using it as a daily driver and in some airsoft games, so it will be pimped up army style and pretty rough around the edges, with a gun mount on the top for the weekends!

Welcome to the club, and all the best finding your perfect Vit!
Don't pass up an SJ or Jimny if you see a good one without giving it serious thought - they're blinding off road.

Re: Looking for a vitara
Thanks all! What's the practical difference between a jimny and a vitara by the way?
Also, is there any way to get a Suzuki with reasonable fuel consumption? I'm making a career move which will will see my pay halved for 8 months.

Re: Looking for a vitara
As I used to own a Jimny, they are a fantastic anus to have, good on road and good off road. only a little bit small inside, but that was fine for me, not good for passengers on a long drive.
I would be happy to buy another Jimny as soon as I can.
The common problem with Jimny's is that the crankshaft sensor , they need to be replaced when needed, not expensive.
Vitara's n Grand Vitara's are bit bigger. cost more to run depending on engine size.
It all comes down to budget and needs. costs like insurance, road tax, fuel costs.

Re: Looking for a vitara
I had been originally looking at getting a Jimny but went for a 5 door Vitara, its a few years old but in very good condition as i hated the idea of a newer motor being damaged when going onto farms that i visit most weekends.
Depending on your age the biggest killer is the insurance,i am lucky that i am at the lowest premium range and have fully comp and recovery for a very small amount of money and that is with a 2ltr V6.
Good luck in finding one.

Thanks! My puter does that from time to time, and I can delete the extra posts myself usually - but I missed them this time!
