Re: the no dosh LJ revamp
Don't want to sell it, just can't afford to pay for tax, insurance and MOT on a vehicle that's just going to sit out the back of the house and rust until my health is good enough to use the thing.
I'm currently talking with some friends to see if someone will take it on a long term loan and use it until I'm better.

Man that sucks, if I had the space you could store it at mine, I know it's miles from but give it a few months I might have some room.

Thanks for the offer. No idea where I'm going from here, but I really have no intention of selling unless I'm given no other option. It's mechanically in good nick, but it looks dodgy as hell - so I won't get any real money for her, and you know whomever buys her is going to be ragging her to death and then scrapping her for parts.
I can't have that!

Re: the no dosh LJ revamp
Sorry Anton but if your friend can look after her for you then that will be ideal.
And now some warmer weather is here I am back on the LJ. Fuelled by my success with the window, and not quite with the doors, it's time the bodywork got sorted and properly this time!
Starting with the dash. It's very basic and metal...and full of dents but it's getting there.

Re: the no dosh LJ revamp
The main part of the dash is done. I am having one problem with a screw that holds the windscreen mount on. Sheared completely and no matter what I do to it (chisel, swearing etc) it won't shift. Apart from the obvious drilling it out has anyone got an easier idea?

Damn that looks really smart bud! Apart from tac welding a smaller nut onto the back of it and trying to unscrew it again, drill & tap is probably the only real solution :/

Cheers! Yes I think that the weld a nut on idea is the best way to go. And on the other side too dammit!

Re: the no dosh LJ revamp
Did quite a bit today. The grill got some new mesh on the Suzuki part. Then it was time to track down a load of annoying rattles and squeaks. Turned out to be mainly the soft top frame. Some areas need R clips, other stuff I used cable ties. Spent most of the day doing it. Drove home tonight in an almost rattle free zook!
