The engine swap is getting there now, the old engine is out, the gearbox has been seperated and pressure washed, just got to put it all together again now.

My su manifold turned up today, so I'll be cracking on with the rest of the engine change this weekend

Nice looking manifold. Is that a Rockwatt? It looks fairly well port matched to me.

Yep that is a Rockwatt manifold and it's now fitted with the SU attached.

Also how can I tell if my starter is a skinny one. I've 'offered it up' and looks like it will only just fit. How do I make sure it's the right kind, after seeing ScottieJ's post in another topic (can't remember what one) I'm not too worried if it's not.

From the look of the previous photos when you removed it it looks like a rather fat one to me.

Little bit of an update:

I managed to find a skinny starter on ebay so that solved that problem.

The engine is now in place (well kind of), I am struggling to get the back of the gearbox to line up with the holes in the chassis. It's about 4mm too far back, a bit of brute force and ignorance should fix that.

Manual choke cable and fuel pump fitted, all new hose set fitted.

That's about up to date now. So I'm hoping to be able to fire it up later on this week.

Got the engine fully fitted now. We managed to get the engine to turn over but it wouldn't fire. I think a day or so fiddling with the fuel mix should get it firing.
