Re: G box to Pug 1.9TD enigne?
Yep that was me, not been on there for a loooooong time! Seems dead compared to this forum! Ill be changing it in a couple of weeks time. Once i get all thd rest of my million jobs done! It drives quite well to bd honest, gears seem to be suited for it. When i had thd samurai transfer box and samurai diffs it was happy on the motorway, now its not so much but i have changed the transfer box for a 410 and using sj413 diffs. Still does over 70 now and happily sits at 50.
Anton i dont think iv actually made a build thread! I best get one made and back dated with pics.

So which Vit gear box ( bell housing really ) can i use with the Pug 1.9 TD engine, I see the commercial will go but they had the XUD 1.9 N/A ?
What i am getting at, will both diesel Vit bell housings take the XUD 1.9 TD enigne.?
Mite of found one and need to make sure its the correct one for the engine.

Commercials are turbo just very very slow. Don't think estates will as they were Mazda engines I believe. To tell if it's xud it will have starter motor on top passenger side, so top right of gbox if your looking straight on.

They do if you *carefully* make the waste veg into biodiesel.
You have to do it carefully, not just dump lye into it and stir - you have to balance the PH levels so that it's not acidic or alkaline, and then it should be ok to run through your fuel tank.
Still, it's a lot more work than just straining it through an old sock and dumping it in your fuel tank!

When I was running my old xud pug I had a shed just big enough to have a settle tank and a few 20ltr pots so no chance of bio for me, that and I was too lazy So when we got a hdi I still tried wvo, and it all got messy

I used to run WVO in my 28.TD shoggy, filter to 1mic then just just dump in the tank or 50/50 if below 5degC ambient temp, this will also work i believe on a HDi but only on a twin tank set up.
A bit of hassle but whe i was getting good used veg oil at 25pl it was worth it.
