Hi
I'm buying an SJ413 here in Spain. I need an ignition module (the black box thingumies that are attached to the distributor that replace the function of the points on an older vehicle). The module in the vehicle I'm looking at is blown. I've tried the local Suzuki dealer who says that there are no new parts. The local scrap yards are drawing a blank.
I need to source one from, e.g. mail order from U.K. or does anybody know any alternatives, e.g. an equivalent part I could pull off another vehicle that should fit the distributor or an aftermarket kit or from a scrap specialist? The unit comprises a pickup coil connected to a module containing the transistor switching module that switches the low tension side of the coil.
I just need something to get going - I'd even fit an old points style distributor if that would get me going - after that I can work on a less-bodgy solution - if necessary!
Cheers
Marcus

I can't find anybody selling the generator assembly. I think you may be best to try and find a used distributor complete and use it or rob the part required.

On some I believe the generator and ignitor are connected by 2 screws (as shown above) but not listed as separate part numbers.
Mine are soldered together like this

I think the 'Do not Remove' marking gives a clue as to why its not available separately, I would recommend seeking out a used, complete, distributor.

Would an SJ410 distributor fit? Or an older, points-style distributor (assuming that earlier MY's had those) from SJ413 fit? I want to widen my net!

Jordi! You tried to send me a PM, matey. Apparently I'm not 'sufficiently active' on the forum to be allowed to even read a PM yet. :(
